New Business:

Officer elections are scheduled for December meetings. All current officers agreed to run again for 2014. All were unopposed.

They were approved by a motion, a second and a voice vote.

Shane Pinkston, president. Al Kittredge, vice president. Doug Jessie, secretary. Scott Griffin, treasurer.

Shane announced that the board will soon meet to draft a calendar of events for 2014. A request was made for at large board members to step forward and volunteer to help with the functions and decisions necessary for the club’s business. Current board members are: the four club officers, Darrin Doss, Laura Kennerly and Neil Tatum. Come join us!

We moved right into our feature for the meeting after that.

Feature Presentation:

Laura was good enough to strong arm (just kidding) one of her Nat Greene Chapter members to come up and share with us. Jack Patterson is an accomplished tier who shared his woven fly body expertise with us. Good stuff! He also showed off his variations on materials and techniques for two popular patterns – the Royal Wulff and Elk Hair Caddis. It was very educational and he was very generous with his time. He donated a stout handful of flies to our fly box.

Al, Darrin and Scott were tying also. Al tied his Allieworm (surprise!) and some zebra midges. Darrin was tying huge Musky flies and Scott tied up some mayfly dries.

At the end of the meeting we raffled off the donated Green Caddis fly box filled with member and guest tied flies. A Smith River special box with 60+ flies. Larry Hulett was the big winner.

We also drew the winning ticket for the framed print that we have been showing off all year. In a strange twist, Scott Griffin was the winner with a ticket purchased for him by Paul Fogle.

I’m going to start being nice to Paul.
